Bridge To Bhutan Cares When you travel with us, you're helping ensure a sustainable future for Bhutan. B I I B is not just about visiting Bhutan, taking photographs, returning home and then forgetting about the trip. It is about creating lasting impressions, and connecting people, nature, and spirit. Keeping in line with our mission, we dedicate ourselves to making tourism work in the interest of everybody who participates. Our social and environmental initiatives are an attempt to help address some of the critical issues that Bhutan and the world at large face today. To this end, we are continually working on understanding the challenges and identifying areas of collaboration, both with our clients and organizations/Non-profits such as:
On September 21, 2009, central-eastern Bhutan was hit by a devastating earthquake measuring 6.3 on the richter scale. Thousands of homes and hundreds of ancient monasteries were destroyed. Besides claiming several lives, the earthquake has left many villagers homeless. The aftershocks were felt even through end of October, 2009. While supporting a select group of existing non-profits in the country that address the environment, social, and youth related issues, we also directly oversee some of our own programs. B I I B is currently building the following programs: Many of our trips are designed around these initiatives. The trips will entail visiting one or more of the project sites. A few examples would be visiting the school for the disabled children, orphanage, and drug rehab-center. Our programs mainly focus on issues such as youth empowerment, traditional architectural preservation, environmental education, conservation, and organic far ming. Note: Together we can make a difference... |
